A free Jobber alternative, if you do not need the scheduling
Jobber is field-service management software: scheduling, dispatch, a client database, quotes, invoices, payments and a website, in one system. It is aimed at a business with a crew and a calendar to run. Comparing it to BidPaper is not really fair to either — one is an operations platform, the other makes two documents — but people do search for a cheaper alternative, so here is the honest version.
What Jobber costs
Jobber starts at $49/month for Core, or $29/month billed annually, for a single user. Connect is $139/month ($99 annually) and Grow is $199/month ($149 annually). There is a free trial that does not ask for a card.

What Jobber does better
Taking this first, because it is the part a comparison page usually hides.
- Scheduling and dispatching a crew, which is the actual product and has no equivalent here.
- Keeping client history, job notes and photos in one place as a working CRM.
- Taking payments, automating reminders and chasing overdue invoices.
- Growing with you: QuickBooks sync, job costing, time tracking and reporting.
Where BidPaper is the better pick
- Costing nothing for a one-person operation that does not need a calendar.
- Opening instantly with no setup, no onboarding and no account.
- Staying out of the way — there is nothing to configure before you write an estimate.

So which one
Use Jobber
Pick Jobber if you are scheduling other people, tracking jobs through stages, or want one system running the business. At that point $29 a month is not the expensive part of your week.
Use BidPaper
Pick BidPaper if you are one person, your calendar is your phone, and what you actually needed was a professional estimate without signing up for an operations platform first.
Switching questions
- Can BidPaper schedule jobs or dispatch a crew?
- No, and it is not planned. Scheduling, dispatch and job tracking are the core of what Jobber sells, and building a worse version of them is not the plan here. BidPaper makes estimates and invoices. If you need the calendar, you need the calendar, and no amount of document-building replaces it.
- I am one person. Is Jobber overkill?
- Possibly, but that is a question about your week, not about software. If you are quoting, scheduling and chasing payment across more jobs than you can hold in your head, an operations platform earns its $29 a month quickly. If your calendar is your phone and the paperwork is the only part that feels unprofessional, that is the narrower problem BidPaper solves.
- Can I use both?
- People do, usually while deciding. There is no integration between them and no import, so it means writing a document in one place and the job in the other. It works as a trial — build a few estimates here, see whether the PDF is what you wanted — but it is not a long-term setup worth maintaining.
